- Unit
- One row = one storefront or storefront rail built on the x402 protocol, with its product category, traction level, the core offering, the underlying infrastructure, example products, and a primary source.
- Scope
- Only entries verifiably using the x402 (HTTP 402 / EIP-3009 or Permit2) protocol, traceable to a primary source. Index, network, SDK, and payment-orchestrator entries are kept as storefront rails (how storefronts are built), categorised
other and characterised accordingly. - Traction
- Reported as a level (high / medium / low / unknown). Every entry is
unknown unless backed by a verifiable on-chain metric; the initial unsourced high/medium/low values were reset during validation. - Provenance
- Validated against Coinbase / x402 documentation, AWS documentation, vendor documentation and blogs, and the npm registry and GitHub. Entries that could not be verified, that were demos or test nodes, or that conflated non-x402 payments with x402 were quarantined (see the research record).
